  • Can I add water to your dog food?

By feeding our food dry will help improve your pet’s teeth and health, however, you can add water but we recommend this is only done as part of a recommended weight loss programme.

  • Do I need to add anything to your pet food?

No 4Pawspetfood is a complete feed for your pet, as such there is no need to add anything to our feed, we also formulate our feed to include Verm-X and Joint Care which means you no longer have to purchase these separately.

  • Is your feed okay for Diabetic Dogs?

Yes, we already recommend to split the daily intake recommended to 3-4 meals a day instead of many manufacturers who only recommend twice daily feeding, we feel it is always best to split the daily intake allowance of the feed into 3-4 or more meals a day, as by doing this it slowly releases energy and your dog doesn't end up with a sugar rush.

(It is always best to take our feed to your veterinarian or ideally to a veterinarian who is also qualified in nutrition for companion pets).

  • By having verm-x does this mean I don’t need to worm my dog?

(Answer – Verm-x ingredients doesn’t just help with internal parasites, it is also shown by many satisified customers to improve your dogs health, eyes, gut, digestion system, coat, skin and improved their energy levels, whereas a normal worming tablet/powder only helps with stopping worms, but if your dog is indeed an active outdoor dog it is likely to encounter all sorts of internal parasites as such it is not necessary to worm you Dog by normal means, however, we recommend you carry on providing your dog with it’s worming regime if expressed as a necessity by your Vet, but by using our feed, it will help to ensure your dog will not suffer from internal parasites also improves its health.

  • I currently buy Verm-x separately should I stop doing this when feeding your product?

(Answer – Even though it is highly unlikely to do your dog any harm in over feeding it with Verm-x it is recommended to stop using Verm-x on it’s own if feeding our Verm-x dog food range.

  • I currently buy a Joint Aid product at moment, should I stop doing this when feeding your product?

(Answer – Yes it is advisable to stop buying any other Joint Aid/care product when feeding our Joint Care food range, unless a Vetineran states it is safe to carry on using both!

  • You state 40% chicken is this true?

(Answer – We don’t play clever marketing tactics to miss-sell our pet food, when we state you get 40% chicken you get 40% chicken!

Many pet food companies state for example 40% chicken, however most have 20% fresh chicken, what does this mean?, well basically fresh chicken is made up of about 80% water, so when it is finally added into kibble form, in fact that 20% fresh chicken means only 4% chicken plus the 20% poultry meal, which means our competitors are in fact only providing your dog with a total of 24% chicken in the kibble!

Meaning that your dog isn’t get as much of the healthy nutrients and taste that chicken provides!

  • Why do you use 13% white and 12% brown rice?

(Answer – We feel 25% - 30% rice content is the optimal amount of carbohydrates from rice, any more than 30% we believe is then used by many pet food manufacturers even those claiming to be Natural and Holistic as a filler to reduce their costs, therefore improving their profit margins and not for the actual benefit of your dog.

We also feel that just using one type of rice is again is just being used as filler and by having just one type reduces their cost of ingredients and improves profit margins not the health needs of your dog.

By having both white and brown rice in our pet food, we believe it provides the best of both worlds nutritionally helping to enhance the health benefits of rice in the feed.

  • What is meant by Holistic and Natural when describing 4Paws Pet Food?

(Answer – What it means in its basic form is that we take a Holistic Approach to the body and health, therefore selecting only Quality Natural Healthy Ingredients for our pet food, the way these healthy ingredients combine and complement each other to improve your pets overall health and wellbeing.

Can you send me a Free Sample?

(Our pet food is tried and tested, we also found that it takes several KG to really see if your dog loves any dog food on the market, just because they like an initial 250g sample doesn’t mean they will like it each and every day! whereas our pet food is tried and tested to sustain it's palability on a daily basis, as such we do not provide free sample’s, this also helps to keep the dog food costs down).
